change table constructed with coloured cellsto table without colured cells

have tables where alternate cells are blue and white - i tried to cut and paste content into another - all white cells - table : the coulur of the cell is pastes in the new table along with with the text!

can somebody please help me solve this problem

There is no good way to solve this problem!

Word pastes two sets of formatting: The Table Style, and the direct
formatting properties.

Properties such as cell background colour can be in either or both sets of
formatting.

What I do is this:

1) Select the part you want to copy

2) From the menu, Edit>Clear>Clear Formatting

3) Copy

Then when you paste, the pasted text will adopt the style formatting from
the destination. If you do not like the change in the source document, then
simply ensure you do not save it when you have finished.

If you are copying within a document, you will need a trash document into
which you can paste to remove the formatting before copying again to paste
into the destination.
