change text direction and print a document

I want to change the direction of my text from side to
side, to top to bottom.

Went to format menue but the change direction tab is not
highlighted.

Can you tell me how to do this?

Hi, Grace,

Put the text inside either a text box or a table cell. Then the text
direction command will be available.

Text direction works only in text boxes and tables. If you want to change
the direction of all the text in the document, then change the page
orientation from Portrait to Landscape (in File | Page Setup).
