change text direction

I have Word 2002. The text on a new blank page is now
starting in the upper right corner and flowing down the
page filling right to left (sideways) instead of starting
in the upper left corner flowing top to bottom. I have not
manually changed the directio of the text in a "text
box"...I don't know what I did to change the original
format. I doesn't seem to make any difference if I change
the setting in page setup or preferences. I have even
tried reinstalling the program. Any suggestions? Stephanie

Sounds like you've enabled Right-to-Left support (used for languages such as
Hebrew and Arabic). There are a lot of KB articles about how to enable
support for RTL languages, but nothing about how to disable this or turn it
off. You might check to see if you have a Left-to-Right and Right-to-Left
buttons on your toolbar. If so, press the LTR one. I could have sworn I'd
seen a KB article about this specifically, but I can't find it now. You
might try posting your question in the
microsoft.public.word.international.features NG.
