change Text into freeform shape

I am using Micosoft publisher and I am designing a logo. I am trying to
alter my text to have different attributes. Like, line weight and Fill color
etc. But I need to change the Text to a freeform shape first. How do I do
that. I used to work in Aldus Freehand but It's been a while.

There is no easy way in Publisher. If you have a draw program...
You can change the text into an image, copy/paste special.(.wmf won't work nor will
..emf) You could use WordArt.
Within a textbox you can change each letter to a different font, color and font size.
