Change text with a click

I'm trying to set up a table that shows auction items and the results, but I
would like to have it so you do not see the results unless you highlight the
text, or click a button or something. I thought that I could set the text
color to the background color, then change the color once the button was
clicked. Although this seems like a simple idea to me, it seems to be a
little harder in actually setting it up. Any help?
