Change the cursor

I can't find any help information in the software for changing the
cursor. I need something besides the thin bar (I often use a laptop
in bright areas, and can't see it in a page of text). How do I do
that?

Old Mac systems allowed much greater control of the cursor. You could use
your own shape and color, among other things? How can we get low level
control of the cursor in OSX?

Hi,
I have found this SW which should be able to enable it:

However:
1. I have no experience with this SW
2. appearance alteration/tunning SW sometimes tends to cause problems
with system. As I mentioned I have no experince with this SW, so I
cannot tell. I'm just warning you by general, I do not have anything
particular or bad meaning against mighty mouse, it's just general
warning.

Keep going around, others might give you additional info.
