change the default save paths for Office 2003 thru Group Policy

I have downloaded the Office 2003 tools and I've imported the adm files in
group policy. However, I can't find where to change the default path for
Word, Excel, etc. I would like to change it to a network location, instead
of the default My documents.

I don't want to do it on every single machine manually, I want to deploy
this thru Group Policy.

For Word the Registry key is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options\DOC-PATH

Excel it is

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Options\DefaultPath

That key wasn't there when I tried to look for it. I went as far as Options
but no DOC-PATH. do I have to create the key? if so, what should be the
values?

I noticed that was for Current User. If I need to deploy this thru Group
Policy, how would I do that? i.e create a security template in MMC, add the
registry keys and import that in?

I thought there was an easier way to do this, by using the Office templates.

I believe it gets created when you use Word.

I have been using Word for a while and it's not there.

What about my other questions?

You need to create it. By default Word will use the My Documents
folder unless otherwise specified in the DOC-PATH value.

It would be a string value and the value data would be the path - like
the one for Excel.

it has the default path probably because I'm not going to go around and
change this on a bunch of computers.

I suspect it's blank. It should reflect what's in the registry entry and
will assume the value you put into it, import it if need be.
