Change the fx to = in the inset function bar

I currently use MS Excel 2003

I am unable to change the set insert function from fx to the = sign for
automatic calculations verses formulas, can you help?

Can you explain in a bit more detail what you are trying to do and what
problems you encounter?

That feature went out with Excel 2002 I believe.

You can add the = sign to a toolbar but it does nothing but insert the =
sign and needs you to type the rest of the formula.
