Change the tabs settings in my header/footer toolbar?

When I switched from wp51 to word, the header/footer toolbar had tab stops.
I did not do this - person who worked here had done it. Now I want to remove
them permanently but I can't figure it out.

The tabs in Headers are Footers are part of the Header and Footer Styles.
You need to change the format of the Styles to remove the tabs permanently.
