Change the title of a Web page not working.

I am unable to change the web page title in FrontPage 2003. It is my
index.html page, which should read one thing in the title bar of my IE
browser and instead reads New Page 6. The help suggestion

"Change the title of a Web page

The title of a page is the name that appears in the title bar of most Web
browsers, page banners, and link bars.
The title can be different from the file name. For example, the title of
your home page could be "My home page" even though the file name is
"Default.htm."
1. In any view except Tasks or Reports, open the Folder List.
How?
On the View menu, click Folder List.
2. On the Folder List, right-click the Web page file, click Properties, and
then click the General tab.
3. In the Title box, type the title that you want.
Note The title you choose also appears in the page banners and link bars
that Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 creates."

does not help. I tried it and continuously got New Page 6. I have tried
other ways including right clicking on the page properties of the actual
index.html document and changing the title there. I still get New Page 6. I
also tried getting an old similar page which already read the desired titlet
in the title bar and when I tried saving THAT, it read New Page 6.

Thanks,

John

Steve,

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I just checked out the code view and the
desired name is already in between <title> </title>.

Thanks again,

John

Problem solved!!! I went into Code view and with the Find bincoulars located
<title>New Page 6</title>. I replaced New Page 6 with the desired title, and
saved the document. I closed MS FrontPage reopened it and was happy to see
the new title took.

Murray, Steve...thanks again for taking the time to input.
