Change to Office 2003 or XP from Office 97

After long use of Office 97 and for reasons I'm not sure I understand, I
want to go up to either Office 2003 or Office XP. I rely heavily on
Excel and Access and amazingly not Word. So I guess I will have to buy
Access separately.

My main concern is whether of not one license will allow me to install
either, with the appropriate Access, on my Desktop and my laptop. I
think I remember that 2000 permitted this.

And, how does the group feel about preferring one over the other, 2003
or XP?

Also, how about the feelings of the Standard or Professional editions?

I run Windows XP on both of my machines quite happily.

Thank you very much for your thoughts on this.

Pro edition includes Access, as far as I'm aware Retail Licence
allows for Desktop + Laptop install

Thank you. I assume that is true for both 2003 and XP?

To the best of my recollection, yes.
It is said that Outlook2003 is the killer app in this version

DL,
FrontPage is also improved, as well as Publisher for printing. One Note is a nice addition on its own as a separate application.
