change to Vista

I have had Office XP Professional for a few years now. I know that it is
not 2007 because we had some problems at work with backward compatibililty
with this product.

I just bought a new computer which has Vista operating system. Would it be
possible to install my office disks on this computer without buying some new
version?

In addition to what JoAnn said, you will have an issue with Outlook not retaining passwords. Only Office 2003 and 2007 are fully compatible with Vista.
