Change user info

S

Steve Aschettino

I installed Office 2001 onto an iMac running OS 9.2.

When I did the install, I entered a name into the registration (i.e "Bob
Smith")

Bob no longer works for us.... Is there a way to change the info.
Specifically, when the new girl tries to add coments when editing a
document, Bob name's pops up.

Is there a way to change this?

Thanks!

You can change that in the preferences...
As far as I remember, it should be in
Edit:preferences:User information

Hi Corentin:

No, he can't change that one: it's written into the executable at
registration. He can change the user information, but not the "Licenced
to:" on the splash screen.

Cheers

Yeah, it's true but I thought it was for the name that get embedded in
all documents and in the information about the document. I didn't ealize
that the main confern was the splash screen.

For this one the only way is to remove the registration adn re-apply it.

There are two files related with the PIDthat need to be deleted:

/Applications/Microsoft Office X/Office/Officepid
(it's an invisible file)

and
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Settings (10)
which contains other preferences that will be lost in the process)
