Change Word XP default settings

Please help!!

My Word XP began to open automatically with "right align" as the default setting.

How do I change the default setting back to "left align"?

Hi, AlanS. In Word, click on Format | Styles and Formatting | click on the Normal style | Modify | Format | Paragraph | Indents and Spacing tab | Alignment: <choose one> | OK | check the "Add to template" box. Close Word, and if prompted to save changes to the normal.dot template, say yes. Start Word again, and all should be well.
