Change working unit from inches to millimeter

All,

I am desperately trying to change the measurement unit
from inches (my current default) to milimeters in my
Powerpoint 2000-SR1 version.

I am working in an English version of both XP and Office.

This is particularly upsetting since some colleagues of
mine with similar configurations have "milimeters" set as
working unit by default.

I am sure this is very easy to do, but I cannot figure it
out.
