How do I change the zoom default from 100% to 125%?

You can only control this for new documents. Open the Normal.dotm template &
set the Zoom to what you want it to be... you can also adjust the window
size if you'd like. Type as little as a <space> or two then backspace or
select & delete to remove the content [Do Not use Undo] then save & close
the template.

Once a document has been created, however, the Zoom & window size is
specific to that document based on what the settings are each time the file
is saved & closed. In Word 2004 you can 'force' all existing documents to
open to a specific Zoom & window size is by way of a macro or Apple Script.
