Changed hard drive letter, now updates don't work

Hi, I have rationalised my drive letters so that my two hard drives are C:
and D:. D was previously F: I installed Office on the F: drive before I
changed it to D:

Now you might think modern software could cope with this but, no, it can't.
Office updates now fail. When I put in my Office CD on trying to 'repair' it
tells me drive F: is invalid and stops the repair. When I try to reinstall
Office from CD it tells me the same thing. What a nightmare! (Incidentally
OpenOffice managed the change without any intervention on my part)

I have been through the registry manually changing all references to the old
F: to the new D:. No change. Office works ok, just can't update or reinstall.
I have seven Office updates that continously try to load and fail, time after
time after time. Driving me nuts!

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards
Bob

Answered my own question... there is a hidden file called MSOcache that
stores which drive Office was loaded on to. It sticks to this drive letter
like the proverbial to a blanket.

However Microsoft also provide the solution.

It is a utility called LISTool and allows you to change the drive letter for
Office.

What a right carry on, there's security, outright paranoia and MS
programming!
