Changed Notes Certifier and Connector No Longer Works

Greetings!

Recently because of a reoganization in the company I changed business units.
As part of this I had to change my Notes certifier. Until then I was
happily using Microsoft Outlook and the Microsoft Cconnector for Lotus Notes
but afterwards, every time I open Outlook I get the message: "The local
message file can't be accessed. The file is already in use by another
user". After Outlook loads, if I click on the folder "Domino Mailbox", I
get the message: "The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not
available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists".

I am able to use the Lotus Notes client with no problems, but would MUCH
rather use Outlook and access the old folders again.

Has anyone else run into this?

yes....I have run into the same issue and am despirately searching for a way
to
get it working again and have yet to find a solution.

There must be something on the system after the initial install of the
connector
where it copies the contents of the notes.id file and hides it somewhere in
the
system. Nothing in the notes.ini file appears to take affect when loading
the
connector, so it must be something that is not removed when you attempt to
reinstall the connector.

I hope someone here or if more people encounter this problem, we can rally
some support to have the issue resolved.

Or, make the connector open-source.....

I know what you are talking about. The mail that you receive within your
INBOX is
available within your Notes Client and any folders that are immediately
underneath.
If you copy your mail, like I did, to a Outlook PST file, then you should
still be able
to access it without difficulty as long as you didn't delete the NST file
that the connector
produced. Of course, I did that in hopes of re-creating it only to find out
that I can't.

Anyone....anyone....could someone please help on this!!!! Do any of you have
contacts
in the Microsoft Interop Developer community?

well....if we, or I, ever do, I will sure post the solution online on this
group and send
it to the group.

I remember a similar situation in the past and it was about time to upgrade
my OS
to WinXP, and when installing the connector worked. But now, I am not
willing to spend 3 days to reinstall my O.S. and all my apps, to just get
this connector
to work. It has to be something that remains in the system, despite
reinstalling the
connector.

I am a S/W developer and this one is a bugger to figure out. I wish I could
have the
source so I could debug the connector myself.

I finally gave up. I have created a new mail file linked to my Lotus Bloats
account. Unless I can figure out how to access the old .pst file, that's a
couple month's mail I've lost. :-(

well....if we, or I, ever do, I will sure post the solution online on this
group and send
it to the group.

If it is a seperate PST file and you need access to it, you could download
the
"Domino for Outlook Access" provided by IBM which should get you synced
up in Outlook (comes at a price at the end, but free for trial) and you can
then
open up your seperate PST file if that is indeed teh case.

The connector generates a .NST file and anything in that is a synced version
of
what is in your Outlook client. If you copied your mail over to a PST file
which
is Outlook specific, then you should be able to open it using the method I
described.

If it was just a matter of change the filename to get a new sync going,
something
I haven't tried, then I will give it a try.

I ended up deleting the account from my profile and then creating a new
account using the connector and gave it a new name for a PST file. It just
means that I started anew.

that means you are having better luck than me. You are at least able to get
a new profile
and use the Connector. I can't....even new profile creations will not work
for me. Are you
sure the connector generates a PST file, not a outlook.nst file (NST)???
