Hi Chris,
I also renamed my server couple of months back. But don't remember exact
steps. Anyway follow this.
(The exact steps depends on your environment / Project 2003 setup. But step
1-5 are definitely needed.)
1. Go to PWA > Admin tab.
2. Click 'Manage Windows Sharepoint Services' link on left side
3. Correct the 'SharePoint Central Administration URL' & click Test URL link
on right of it.
4. Correct 'Create a site under this sharepoint URL' link & then click the
Public documents URL under those three fields.
5. Click button 'Save Changes'
6. Now click 'Manage Sharepoint Sites' link on left
7. Check if the project plan sites are working. If not then check the URL.
If its wrong then follow next step.
a. If you are not using any WSS featues for your projects like Risks, Issues
documents etc then select the site, hit Delete site button. After deleting
site Then hit Create Site button. It would automatically create newsite with
correct URL
Select the site & hit 'Edit Site Address' link.
and / or
b. If you haven't changed a lot of changes in user roles for sharepoint
site, then select the site & hit Synchronize button.
and / or
c. Click 'Synchronize Administrator Accounts' link on left. Hit the button
'Synchronize Web Administrators'
If Sharepoint database was hosted on the same server then also follow this:
c1. Click Manage Windows Sharepoint Services > connect to SharePoint Server
c2. Go to Sharepoint Administration site by clicking the 'Test URL' link
c3. Under 'Server Configuration' section click 'Set default content database
server'. Make sure the server name is correct. If not then enter it there &
enter user / pass & click ok.
c4. Now under 'Server Configuration' section click 'Set Configuration
database server'. Make server name is correct. If not then correct it & also
make sure to check the box 'Connect to existing configuration database' & hit
ok.
C5. From CentralAdministraion home page now, under 'Virtual Server
configuration' click 'Configure Virtual Server Settings'
c6. Click your sharepoint virtual server.
c7. Under 'Virtual Server Management' click 'Manage Content database'. Make
sure your server name & settings are correct there.
Hope this would help.
Regards
Faisal
