Changed servers and now my pictures are not loading

L

lynette

We recently changed servers and up until then all things worked fine. I made
a few minor changes to the webpage after the change and all worked well. Now
I have made some bigger changes including adding new photos and after
publishing I went to check it, the wording changes were made but all the
photos I uploaded come up blank boxes with the little x in the corner. Any
ideas? I am very much a novice at this, so the simpler the explanation, the
better! :)

Do you have a Link to the Website?
Start by tilling as FrontPage Version too it can help?

With your local web open, did your first use File | Import to bring the
images into a folder in your web, and then insert the image on the page from
that folder before saving and publishing to the host?

What I have always done is to use Insert/From File to bring the images to the
page that I am working on, then save the page before publishing. what's
strange is that it always worked before, but I will try your way. So I will
set up a new folder for images, import the images into that and then save and
publish. I will try it with just a couple of images first and see if it
works - and let you know. thanks!

well, tried that and now I get a 404 message when trying to bring up the
page. I tried it for our newsletter coupon page
http://www.vanwingerden.com/specialnewslettercoupon.htm
which should have two coupons on it. Before it was just coming up with
blank boxes, now the page error comes up with nothing. did i just make it
worse?

Well, I created a folder for coupons, imported the images into that folder,
then I inserted the image files from the folder onto the page (all done with
the local site open). then I saved everything and published the site. I
still have everything saved, but now I have this error and the page is gone.
Oh joy. Was trying to avoid getting the IT guys involved, but I do not know
enough about FTP and all to make sense of what is going on. Thanks for
trying to help :)

Just wanted to let you know what our tech guys figured out...
It turns out that we had run out of space on our site. The new server had
under-estimated the amount of space we would need. They corrected the size
and now everything works fine. Turns out that I wasn't doing anything wrong!
:)
