Changes in resource availability (quantity)

I have some resources that have changing availibilities due to leave &
other requirement.
Is there a way I can change the availability/ quanity (max units) of a
resource for a period(s).
Eg. There are normally 2 fitters available, but for the period from X
to Y, only 1 is available
I require this for using resource leveling, please don't laugh, but i
have 700+ tasks that are quite complexly networked, and limited
resources

Hi,

I definitely won't laugh, this is a common problem and IMHO you use the
right solution.
In Resource Sheet, double-click a resource line to bring up the Resource
Information Window

In the General Tab you see the Resource availability table.
It is rather self-explanatory but for one detail.
Once you have any dated entry, the time not specified defaults to 0% and not
to 100 as you might expect.
So often you have to start with a line NA to xx/yy/zz 100% and/or end with
one xx/yy/zz to NA 100%.
