I have a SmartDraw 2.0 drawing that has been cut and pasted into a Word 2007
document. If I double-click the drawing it opens correctly in SmartDraw and
I can edit it. On closing SmartDraw the picture in the Word 2007 document
appears to be updated correctly.
HOWEVER, if I then double-click on the drawing in the Word 2007 document to
edit it again, the version that is opened has none of the edits I just made,
they have been lost: there is no way of editing the embedded picture more
than once.
On the face of it this sounds like a SmartDraw problem, but I'm sure I had
this very same problem with another application in Word many years ago. The
SmartDraw people say they get very occasional reports of this (e.g. once a
year), but nothing consistent. Unfortunately it's quite consistent for all
of us with brand new Windows XP machines and fresh installations of Office
2007 (12.0.6212.1000 SP1 MSO 12.0.6213.1000).
Has anyone else seen a problem like this or can offer suggestions on how to
debug/fix it?
