Changes to Enterprise Global cause errors when opening existing projects

If I change the Enterprise Global Gant Chart, close project and then open up
an existing project I get a message box that says:

There is a view named &Gantt Chart in this project which cannot be
overwritten. Press OK to rename it, or press Cancel to cancel opening the
project.

What does this mean?

It means that the current "master of all things project" i.e. Enterprise
Global has a Gantt Chart view that differs from the one in the newly opened
project. You just changed it, didn't you? So... since EntGlobal rules, you
have to rename the project view to something else ,as it is, in fact, a
changed view (now) and views have unique names.

Thanks for your quick response. Is there a best practice to follow to
prevent the prompting? Are we changing the appropriate object in the
Enterprise global. I would expect the changes to overwrite the old rather
than prompting to rename.
