changing a template

I am using Publisher 2003 on Windows XP SP2. I have made changes to an
existing calendar template. When I attempt to change the date range it all
reverts back to the original template. The option for "format/wizard for this
object" is grayed out. I have saved as a new template. I have saved as new
document. I have opened my new template. No matter what I try, any changes I
make to the date range revert back to the original template. Any suggestions
will be appreciated. Thank you.

Open a new instance of Publisher, copy/paste the calendar. Make note of the
color scheme, it will change on the paste. You will have to do this for every
month...

Thank you for your help. That will accomplish the same thing if I change the
existing template for each month. I was trying to avoid setting up each month
separately. I guess my question is...if I change a template why does it not
remember the changes I made and keep reverting back to the original template
settings?

Have you tried saving your edits as a template? Files of type, expand to
Publisher template.
