Changing appearance of Executive, Manager, Assistant border-Visio

Pat

This is my first organization chart in Visio Standard 2003. I notice when I
am using the shapes from the Org Chart stencil that the Executive and Manager
shapes automatically have double line borders, whereas the Position and
Assistant boxes have single line borders.

How can I make all the borders the same irregardless of the position type?
The "Org Chart Theme" menu only offers two styles - classic and contemporary.
Applying either of these just changes the overall shape to either square or
round, but still leaves the differentiation in the number of border lines.
It seems there should be a way to do this, because there must be a lot of
organizations that don't divide up neatly into executive/manager and
position/assistant. Thank you.

The easiest way is to simply change the executive and manager shapes into
position shapes. Right click on the shape you want to change and select
"Change Position Type..." from the menu (or use "Organization Chart->Change
Position Type" from the main menu)

The position types are only used to set the look of the shapes and, to a
small amount, in layout (assistant shapes are layed out differently from
other types). So, aside from the Assistant type, you can make a fully
functional organization chart consisting soley of position shapes.

BTW, if you dig into the shape sheet, you will find that all the Org Chart
masters are, in fact, one shape. The shape has different geometries that are
triggered by the value of the position type.

Hope this helps.
