Hello,
I'm finding picture attatchments in my eMails are Bitmap, and I need to
change them to Jpegs. Now, that's a large part of my computer language
knowledge of technical terms. I'm disabled, and many of my friends have seen
a project I'm working on o pass time with eMail jokes I recieve daily from
other friends, and have asked me to make them 'books' they will gladly pay me
for. Being on SSI, that would be extremely helpful budget-wise! I am trying
to figure out how to use Word to edit the jokes, and have had some very
helpful replies. What I'm doing is creating a binder full of jokes I type up
in various ways with various backgrounds, adding funny cartoons and pictures
anywhere I can fit them, putting 2 pages back-to-back in sheet protectors. I
have a wonderful card program I'm using for this project, and am able to
import Jpegs only. If you could see the pictures I have in Bitmap form,
you'de understand why I want to change them. I have Windows 98, I looked in
Help, followed instructions, but jpg wasn't a form of picture I had a choice
of to change them into. I've picked up my knowledge 95% on my own, and as I
said, my PC lingo is very limited. If someone could walk me through what I
need to do, step by step, I can follow directions pretty well. I don't need
them broken down to 'click on Start, then on programs', if i'm told to go to
to display and click on the advanced tab, for example, I know that means go
to control panel. I right-click almost as much as left (that's how I'm able
to get all the pictures I want from anywhere, and keep them in a folder easy
to access). I'm very good at extremely advanced things, and can make some
repairs in towers, but am struggling with paste and copy! I'm bipolar; easy
doesn't mean to me what it does to the average person. I'm very smart, and
my mind works in a very organized fashion. So, if someone could lay the
steps out in reasonable terms, (I find, for me, that's the only way I really
understand, and learn, and have filled three composition books now with steps
for everything I've learned to do) you would be helping a disabled person to
suppliment a meager money flow. Remember, I'm new at this; when I graduated
High School in '75, the school was excited because they would have electric
typewriters at the beginning of the next school year! Sorry for the long
letter; I don't know how to lay out a question any other way but to explain
the whole picture. If anyone gets through all this, and can answer, HELP!!
