Changing color in continuous forms

HI,
I have a form with few records listed as continuous form.
If i click on a record can i change the color of that
record permanently (even if i open next time). like on
email if you read a mail, its color will change to mark as
old mail.

Thank you Mr. Alex,
Actually this is not the option i am looking for. I want
to change the color of current record if i click on. Like
email when you read an email, you will see its color
change in your inbox.. anything like that pls...

Thank you so much Mr. Alex,

But it looks little complicated to me. Will be
appreciated if you could explain me little more. Actually
i need only two colors. I will explain you all. I have a
form with few records. There is a field (Status) if its
value is "W" the that record color will be "White" if
value is "G" then that record color will be Gray. Once i
Open that form I have to see like this.

If you could write a code will be thankfull.

Well,
in this case i think first solution is what you need, just leave 2 colors in
table with bitmaps and link it to your status field
