Changing date formats

I need to change the date format from 31/8/2003 to
8/31/2003. Could some one help? Under format, I tried
changing it but it goes to an incorrect date.

Are you sure you have a real date entry to start with? To see if this is so,
format the cell as General. 31st August 2003 (in whatever format you started
with) should then show as 37864. If it's anything else, you're not starting
with that date.

When you are sure that you are starting from the correct point, use a custom
format of m/dd/yyyy to see 8/31/2003.
