Changing default bullet spacing.

Trying to get the bullet spacing to be smaller seems to be like pulling
teeth. Every time I change something, it just changes back when I try to
create a new list of bullets. Is there some simple thing I'm missing to
change the default spacing of bullets? I tried looking in the help file,
but it seems to make if far more complicated than something like this should
be. All I want is for the bullet spacing to work just like it does now,
only not use 1" tabs every time. I very quickly run out of space this way.
0.1" is sufficient. I can change each bullet individually, but changing an
entire list (and it's a rather large nested list) seems to be
near-impossible. Any help would be appreciated...

Darrel, I don't have a specific response for you.

I do recall one of the MVP types on the newsgroup
Microsoft.public.word.newusers writing that when making changes in numbering
(and bulleting?) to be sure to go thru "Format | Bullets and numbering" otw
the changes don't "stick." Something like that.

Also, if you are making changes in Document A that get you where you want,
remember you have to take positive action to have those changes in Document
A transferred to the Normal.dot template.

Organizer will do that for you, as well as "Ctrl-Shift-S | Modify | Add to
template."

HTH.
