Changing default calendars

Running Windows XP on desktop & laptop. I successfully transfered my desktop
Outlook calendar to my laptop following the guidance given in several
questions in this area. It shows up, however, as Calendar1 in another
Personal Folder and I need it to replace the original default calendar. I
did copy it also to the original Personal Folder, but I couldn't delete the
default calendar. Need this as default so I can sync with my iPhone.

You followed the wrong advice or did not follow the correct advice improperly.
After transferring the PST containing the calendar and adding it to Outlook
with File>Open>Outlook Data File, open the calendar in that PST, display it in
a table view like By Category, select all the items in it with Ctrl-A, then
right-click and drag the selection to the default Calendar folder or click
Edit>Copy to Folder and specify the default Calendar as the destination. You
cannot copy the added Calendar folder itself or you'll get what you describe.
You must copy the contents of the folder, not the folder itself.
