Changing default language of office X or v.X : a successful case from french to english

I post it because I failed to find this information here. I'm an
English user working in France(bad situation). My company provided me
French office 2004 for Mac(version 11.0) and license key. My french is
really basic level and my english is much better than french, so I
wanted to change all the menu bars and options marked in english.

I downloaded update files for office2004 from Mactopia.
At first, install a FRENCH version of 'Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac
Service pack 1 (11.1.0). And then, install ENGLISH version of
'Microsoft office 2004 for Mac 11.1.1 Update'. It changes much of menu
bars and options in english(not all, but enough I think.). I tried
similar thing with office v.X. At that time, I remember that
installation of ENGLISH version of 'security update' worked.

Hoping helpful for somebody with same trouble...

This is a rather risky thing to do... You might end-up with instability
issues.
You'd probably be better of finding a US CD and installing Office using
the serial number you own for the French version (I don;t see a problem
with the license agreement there since you are then still only using one
copy of the app).

I did that the other way around with Office X and the serial number was
accepted with both versions.
