Changing Default setting on Save as Type

Hi, is there a way to change the default setting for Save as Type when I am
saving an email. It defaults to Text only but I would like it to default to
Message Format.

Hi

You should choose Save AS - not just Save...
Save defaults to .txt
If you select File/Save As/ you can change the save message as a '.msg'
format from a drop down menu..
If you cannot see the Save As option - try clicking on the little arrows
which point down once you clicked on file...Outlook hides options you do not
use frequently.

Thanks for the help, I understand this but what I am wondering is is there a
way to change the default from .txt to .msg? I have a boss who is not
patient enough to manually change it
