Changing default settings

Hi,

I added the actual start and actual finish fields to the task view so that
resources will be able to enter when they actually did start or finish a
task, yet the fields will not allow me to make any edits. How do I make
these fields open so that resources can enter in information? Does this have
to do with changing some default settings?

You will need to open each project and do the following:

1. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields
2. Copy the Actual Start and Actual Finish fields to the list on the right
3. Select each of these fields and make sure the "Let resource change
field" option is selected
4. Click the OK button
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
6. Click OK

In addition to performing the above steps, you should also add these fields
to each of your enterprise project templates. Lastly, make sure your
Project Server administrator has added these two fields to the Timesheet
view. Hope this helps.
