Changing diagram (pyramid) colours

Hi,
Hope someoen can help?
I've opened up a powerpoint slide which came attached to an e-mail. Part of
the slide is a pyramid diagram. Each tier of the pyramid is a different
colour. I need to change the colours of the tiers but I've tried the
followind which don't work;
1) Double clicking each tier to bring up the options menu. The 'colours and
lines' options are all blanked out and unchangeable.
2) Making the pyramid '3D' and then using the '3D Style' toolbar to alter
the colours - these options are also blanked out and unchangeable.
I know you can select other varieties of pyramid diagram which all come in
default different colours, but I need to set specifics. Surely this can be
done? Is it because I've opened it as an attachment?

Thanks

IoHeFy,
Opening as an attachment has nothing to do with it.
To change the colour of each tier in the pyramid, and I would advise to do
this upon completion of the diagram, click on the button Format on the
diagram toolbar, the last entry is autoformat click on it to unselect it.
Now you should be able to select each tier in the pyramid and apply a
different background.
Does this help?
