Changing display monitor for slideshow?

Hi there,

I run PowerPoint 2000 SP3 under W2K Pro SP4 and nVidia Quadro 980XGL
connected to 2 Eizo L767 monitors.

The problem I have is the slideshow always displays on monitor 2 and not the
Primary monitor.

If I load any of the presentations I have and go to the Menu/Slide Show/Set
Up Show it displays Monitor 2 in the Show On box.

If I change this to Primary Monitor and run the slideshow it does indeed now
show on my Primary monitor.

So I save the presentation after changing this setting to Primary Monitor
from Monitor 2, exit PowerPoint, run it again and the setting has reverted
back to Monitor 2.

How on earth do I set the preferences/options so that PowerPoint defaults to
my Primary monitor and keep that setting?
