I have chosen to have my Windows on my drive D: and my
Program Files on drive F. However, MS Office XP insists
on having the following directories on drive D.
D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
D:\Program Files\Common Files\Designer
D:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared
D:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033
I have searched and re-searched the registry for all
matched to "D:\Progra" and changed them all
to "F:\Progra". OK so far.
If I then remove the Program Files directory from D: and
start Word, Excel or Outlook it does a quick re-install
and put the files back on D:
I have tried looking for HOMEDRIVE; HOMEPATH and
SYSTEMDRIVE. However, changing these does not help
either.
Does anyone know where the drive designation is kept and
can it be changed?
