Changing end date of recurring appointment

Can I change the end date of a recurring appt (i.e., extend the date or end
it early) without losing edits from previous occurrences? I'm using Outlook
2003.

Yes, when you open the item, make sure that you tell it to open the series.
Then go to the recurrence settings and set the end date.

First, create a new calendar folder and copy the item (using a table view of
the main calendar) to the new calendar. Export that calendar to a CSV file.
Outlook will tell you there's a recurring event and ask for the date range it
should export. Give the starting and new ending date of the event. You'll
now have a CSV file containing as separate items all the recurrences and
exceptions with their edits for the original event. Delete the original event
from the main calendar and import the CSV you created.

But that will lose the "edits" the OP said he wants to keep.

While that will work, there is an easier way;
-select the appointments of the occurrence (this indeed goes best via a
Table view)
-Press CTRL+C to copy them
-Press CTRL+V to paste them
-Modify or delete the original appointment the way you want.
