Changing Excel "row number" size

When I have a page of data of different row heights made possible with auto-fit the row numbers on the far left are clipped at the top and therefore they are only partially seen. This does not effect the data on the spreadsheet but looks unsightly to say the least.
IMHO the size of these numbers should fit into the smallest row heights or be of the same font size as the adjoining data row.
Has anyone been able to overcome this problem?

Afraid there is no setting to change that. I don't know how feasible it may
be from a programming standpoint -- especially for variable font sizing --
but you might use Help> Send Feedback to plead your case :)
