changing fields in word doc automatically

Hi,
I need help real bad...
I'm more then a beginner and I need to know if there's a way to
automatically change feilds in a word doc.
By that I mean, if I have a contract with the name, adress etc. can I
put a code of some sort that would enable me to automatically change
all thos feilds at the same time to let's say change the contract to
someone else.
The same question applies to formulas, can I change formulas
automatically via word to calculate let's say the cost in my
contract...
Don't forget I'm a 2 years old kid in computer stuff and I'm french lol
but not blond... :confused:
The worst, I would need those info ASAP!!!

What sort of Fields are they?

If they were mailmerge fields, you could just merge a different record to
change the data.
