I am trying to set up a file upload feature to my website
using a form, and according to the help in Frontpage 2002,
it indicates that after you set up the form, you need to
create a new folder that the visitors will upload their
files to. It says that once the folder is creatd to right
click on it and go into the properties and change
(deselect)the "Allow Scripts to be run" option. it says
that if this is not cancelled, the "allow Anonymous
upload" and " Allow uploaded files to be overwritten"
options will be unavailable (dimmed) and I need to select
those options for this to work.

My problem is, the "Allow Scripts to be run" option is
also unavailable (dimmed), so I cannot turn it off to make
the other options accessible.

What do I need to do to be able to changed these settings
in the folder properties dailog box?

Thanks

Tim

You need to open your Online server hosted web in FP under the FP2002 Server Extensions (set by the host to allow file uploads)
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;299763&Product=fp2002

Hi Timonthy,

If the check boxes are shaded, verify that you opened or created a Web. In Folder view, the first item in the Folder List pane
should show a URL (http://...), not a file path (C:\...).

OK so then I should do this from my FTP program after it
has been uploaded to the site, correct? The help from
within Front Page didn't mention this. Or, is there some
way to do this from within Front Page itself?

Sorry about the questions, I'm checking this from work
and don't have FP on this computer or I would play around
on it myself and figure it out.

Thanks

Tim

Can not and should not be done using FTP
Must be done at your online server in FP
See my other post above

No I haven't been using FTP, my server has FP extensions,
sorry, don't know what I was thinking :^)

Thanks, it looks like I will have to play with this when
I get home from work (and not at 1:00 in the morning like
when I posted the question either).

OK now I'm really confused. I followed the instructions
exactly as they were written in the Knowedge Base Article
you listed. I tried to change the properties of a folder
on my web (not my local hard drive) and the check boxes
are all still dimmed. I am trying to set up a form so
that anonymous users can upload filed to the server and
according to the instructions, the "Allow scripts or
programs to be run" box is supposed to be turned off and
the other two boxes turned on. They are all dimmed and
will not let me modify the properties, even when in the
url list. Does anyone have any idea why?
Thanks again

Found my answer in a similar thread above, My host is
Running Apache Servers which won't allow uploads as a
security measure. Oh well.

Thanks for your help.
