Changing Font Default

R

Reba8000

I can't seem to figure out how to permanently change the font default. No matter what I try, every new Word document I open up opens with Cambria as the font. Any tips?

Hi Reba -

Rather than having someone here list a litany of things to try it would be
more helpful for you to indicate what you include as "No matter what..." -
otherwise we waste your time with suggestions that may have already failed.
Further, if you have taken the actions normally recommended & they have
failed it indicates that there may be a deeper issue, but we have no idea
where to begin.

Clarifying Office & OS X version is also a good practice.

1) Close all other documents

2) Use File>Open to open Normal.dotm

3) Select the paragraph

4) Change the font

5) Use Format>Styles and Formatting to also change the font in the Normal
style.

6) Save the file.

Quit and restart Word.

That will fix it for new documents. Old documents will need to be changed
manually.

Hope this helps
