Changing fonts/colors

I have created a Word document. It is primarily a series of questions.
Different fonts and text colors were used on this. This will be sent to
several people. They will need to be able to insert their answers using
the fonts and text colors of their chosing. My attempts so far at this
will allow them to change these items only for highlighted items. How
can they setup a single font and color which will act as default for
everything they enter? If I have to use VB macros, I guess I will. But
I am not very proficient at this.

Styles! You should have used styles in creating this document (if you
didn't, you wasted a lot of time). Create a style for the answers and let
users modify it according to their preference. The easy way to do this would
be to create the style, set it to update automatically, and make it the
"Style for following paragraph" for your question style. That way, users can
just press Enter at the end of a question to get the Answer style, and any
direct font formatting they apply will be applied to the style and will
therefore carry over to all of their answers.

Note, however, that if you are sending the *same* file to several users in
succession expecting each one to add answers, this method will not work.
Instead, why not turn on Track Changes with color set to By Author. That
will allow users to add text, each in a different color. Though they won't
be able to choose the colors, and the colors may appear different for each
user, there will at least be a distinctive color for each user: that is,
User A's responses may be blue on his machine and red on someone else's, but
whatever color it is will be different from anyone else's color.
