Changing format of Shapes w/Custom Properties

I have imported data into Visio to ceate an org chart which contains
customized properties. I would now like to change the format of the shapes
depending on the value for some of the customized properties. Say white for
value "a," Black for value "b," etc. Does anyone know how I can accomplish
that?

you can also use cells in the shape sheet. Add a custom properties menu on
the shape....use that property to influence the colors. I have done this for
isometric shaps where the user can select the light source for an
isometric...then based on custom propertie...it puts the shade of color off
the base color off the top banner (whatever that string of commands is called
across the top of visio) selected for the shape in left/right/top parts of
the drawing.

works well

Once you get the hang of that...you can also use this kind of thing for a
variable drop down menu....custom prop panel with general catagories...pick
one...item influences the shape sheet cells for other custom props...shows
the subset...pick one, etc etc etc.

The only reason to go this path though is to avoid all the security issues
with VB
(resulting image can get quite large in terms of MBs)
