Changing formats between computers-Any ideas?

I can't work this out at all.....
I have a Word 2003 file which has all sorts of settings/sections
(including some sections in landscape, etc) It all works fine on my
computer, but when I transfer it to another computer (by email or by
memory stick) the formatting slips. The pagination goes wrong as the
sections with pre-determined start page numbers keep those settings, but
extra pages have been inserted, as some sections take up an extra page.

I have checked the page setup settings and they are all set the same (as
far as I can tell). Why doesn't the file keep the settings that work on
my computer when transferred to another one? Any ideas please?

It may well be the difference between default printers on the two computers.

It is a common problem.

Thanks for that info. Is there anything I can or should do to prevent
the reformatting problem, or is it unavoidable?

Convert it to PDF - that way it retains formatting. A bonus is that a
degree of security can be included - eg prevent modification of the
document - far superior to the utterly useless Word security.

Thanks for that good suggestion.
