Changing Geometric Shapes on Org Charts

There was another posting about customizing Organization Chart properties but
it was very long and complex and I am hoping it was not the solution to my
issue.

I am building a corporate restructuring chart that includes triangle and
oval shapes as different organization entities. I'm wondering if the
organization chart the solution for building these complex organizational
primary and subsidiary relationships. Or should I commence with using basic
shapes and connectors?

The Organization Chart shapes are fairly complex and the functionality of
the Organization Chart solution depends on the shapes having the correct
properties. If you are confident using the shape sheet and are careful, you
can modify the geometries of the Organization Chart shapes, but I would not
recommend it for beginners.

If you don't need the organization chart solution's functionality (drop-on
layout, synchronization across pages, etc.) I would recommend using a basic
block diagram.
