changing jpg images to gif

dunefarm

Using pub. 2000. I made a simple webpage
(www.oldpostofficebedandbreakfast.com.au) and inserted some quite small jpg
images. The design checker passed them very quickly. However the images load
rather slowly and I wonder, if I changed them to gif would they load quicker?
I do not intend to change anything in this particular page, but am designing
another webpage and might use gif in there. Is that a possibility and would
the images load any faster? The gif is 96 dpi.

Amazing, I did not know that I am using version 2003, does that mean that my
pub.2000 is updated to 2003? (I must seem very dumb!)

This is made in version 2003. Not 2000.

Gif wouldn't be as true as jpg since it only supports 256 colors.

Use the Picture optimizer in 2003 SP1 to optimize jpgs for online use.

David, I think there is some confusion here. I use pub.2000. The computer is
2 years old, but I put pub 2000 on it as I was doing a lot of work in that
program. Still am. So I cannot use the image optimiser, it is not in 2000, or
if it is, I have not found it. Thanks for your advice though. Any more
thoughts?
