Changing Language in Mac Word - (Japanese or Chinese) to English

At my office, word is set to either japanese or chinese, I'm really
not sure. Obviously, I'd like it to be in English. I've searched all
over and find many sites that tell me how to do it - tools to
language, etc. The problem is, I don't understand the language, and
even when I try to compare screen shots the scroll down menus aren't
exactly the same. Is there any way for me to change the language -
either by downloading something, doing something completely on the
keyboard, etc? Please help, this is driving me absolutely crazy.

Microsoft Office for Mac is language specific, so you apparently have the
Chinese or Japanese version installed. There is nothing you can do to
convert the Menus & dialogs to another language. If you want the English
version you'll have to plead your case to the boss & have him/her spring for
an English copy.

The language information you're finding pertains to formatting (or
"tagging") the document content. The text can have Language formatting
applied to it in order to have the appropriate Spelling & Grammar resources
used. It has nothing to do with the program interface, nor does it
"translate" the document text.
