Changing layout of instrument list

When I make a P&ID in Visio 2007, I can run a report for an Instrument List.
This list always has the same layout.
< Title >
< Item > < Parameter 2 > < Parameter 3 >
Item 1
Item 2
Item 3
etc etc

I would like to have the Items horizontal and the parameters vertical.
How can I do this without macro's and a lot of manual actions?

I use Visio 2007 and Excel 2000, I noticed that there is a maximum amount of
colums I can put in my drawing. Is that true?

Create the report as an Excel sheet, select the cells, copy, select the destination cell,
paste special (and tick the Transpose box),

Thanks for thinking with me.
I already tried something like this (also to record a macro),
but every time I change something in my drawing (so also the instrument
list) I need to change the list (manually).
Is there a possibility to tackle my question at the source?
