Changing meetings without resending invitation

Does anyone know how to work around the new feature that doesn't allow
changing meetings without reinviting everyone? It's really annoying to have
to resend an invitation to everyone just to end the meeting early.

I, too, find this "feature" annoying. What I do is invoke File | Work
Offline, make the change, resend the invitation, and then delete the meeting
update from my Outbox. Then I use File | Work Offline to go back online. (If
you do this, you may want to adjust your send/receive settings so that when
offline, no automatic send/receive takes place.)

I remove the checkmarks from all attendees on the schedule assistant.

I tried that once and it sent a cancellation to everyone I had unchecked.
Maybe I need to try again.
