Changing Min/Max Project Start/Finish Dates

What do I need to do to enter project start and/or finish
dates before 1/1/1984?

Out of the box, project start/finish dates must be
between 1/1/1984 and 12/31/2049.

The "zero date" of the date/time system Project uses internally is 1/1/84
and there's no way to enter dates earlier than that. Likewise, 2049 is when
it overflows and rolls back to zero again. Sorry about that

A time travel machine. What is it you are planning to do before 1984?
Unfortunately Project can not help you in this endeavor as the dates are
hard limits.
